About Splash
Meet Splash, a handsome 2 yo stumpy tail red cattle dog x kelpie mix born on March 6, 2023.
Why’s he called Splash? Well, from the time he was a wee pup, he’s loved water and swimming. Give him a body of water, whether it’s a wading pool in the back yard or a dam in a paddock, and he’s in heaven.
Imagine how much fun this country dog would have at the beach! Coastal dwellers, please take note.
Splash has learnt all his basic commands - sit, stay, come, drop - but ongoing reinforcement is recommended as he can get distracted sometimes. That’s what happens when you’re a super clever, young dog who’s very aware of his own environment.
Speaking of which, Splash is an excellent watch dog. Nothing escapes his notice. He’ll sound the bark alarm but is not aggressive or threatening to visitors.
While he already has great recall, walks nicely on a lead and knows his basic commands, he is eager and capable of learning much more. His sweet, gentle nature shines through when he's being rewarded with treats, proving he’s a willing learner and keen to please.
Aside from swimming, Splash also loves car rides, especially in utilities, and enjoys nothing more than the feeling of wind through his fur.
We’re looking for an active family that can offer Splash secure fencing, ample space to romp, preferably a compatible canine pal and loads of love and attention.
Experience with working breeds will be well regarded.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
If you are interested in one of our cats or kittens, please click on the green "Enquire about ...", button, tell us a bit about yourself and the home you can offer the cat, and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
