About West
Meet West, a charming 7-year-old black and white male cat with a heart full of love to give. This super sweet boy may need a bit of time to come out of his shell, but once he feels safe and loved in his new forever home, his true personality begins to shine.
West's journey hasn't been easy. He came in as a stray and, after being desexed, his family didn't reclaim him, leaving him feeling a little down. However, West's resilient spirit and gentle nature are undeniable. All he needs is a loving family to show him that he belongs.
In addition to being a wonderful companion to humans, West is also cat-friendly. He enjoys the company of other feline friends, making him a great addition to a multi-cat household. When settled, West becomes an affectionate companion, eager to share his love and warmth. He's looking for a patient and caring home where he can build his confidence and thrive.
Let's help West feel better by giving him the loving forever home he deserves, where his beautiful personality can continue to grow and bring joy to his new family.
To book a meet and greet with West please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
