Wombat is rather cute & cuddly as her name suggests, but not quite as chubby as her marsupial namesakes – and she’s definitely not muddle-headed!

Wombat had a long racing career (100 starts for a single win) and only retired a few months ago. She has taken to the comforts of home life very quickly after previously only knowing racing kennels. Wombat will put herself to bed & sleep right through the night – she’s definitely not nocturnal like most wombats! She walks well on the lead and is currently taking in new experiences such as visits to the local cafe and learning about stairs. She eats well but is not a particularly food motivated hound – plus many of the usual dog treats are still new discoveries for her.

Wombat is currently being fostered with another female Greyhound who is teaching her the ropes, like how to use the doggy door, although at present she still prefers the humans to open the back door for her. Her toilet training has been exemplary to date. She does like to pinch things around the house (like her leash or unattended items of clothing) and take them to her bed. She does not like to wear a coat – so folks who really like to dress up their hounds may be a tad disappointed. She would be best suited to an adult household with someone home a fair bit of the time.
