About Hawkeye
Introducing Hawkeye!
Hawkeye is a Kelpie born approx 23rd June 2023.
BJ came into us a stray with his brother Hawkeye. When we contacted their owner we were told they were useless dogs & he was going to get rid of them anyway. We asked what their names were & said they don't respond to them because they've never bothered to use them. Since being at the facility BJ has shown himself to be an incredibly sweet boy. Even when being microchipped & vaccinated all he wanted to do was cuddle into the person holding him and literally wrapping his arms around their arm. He's incredibly affectionate & loves playing with toys. He's highly food motivated & a very fast learner.
BJ tested very well with other dogs & he's incredibly playful with them. While we would love BJ & Hawkeye to be adopted together, we understand this could be a very large commitment that not many people would be able to take on, so they can be separated for the right home.
As he's been with us throughout our many weeks of quarantine, we haven't had much opportunity to have him out of the kennel or to go on walks, but other than being excited he's he's learning quickly to walk well on lead.
BJ was happy meeting the cats & was rolling on the ground trying to play with them. We believe that with a slow & controlled introduction he could be suitable to live with cats.
He still has so much to learn about the world and life and would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family. BJ will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
BJ's adoption fee is $450 (or $600 for BJ & Hawkeye together) and includes his desexing and lifetime registration.
BJ is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations for his age.
To enquire more or to meet BJ, please call 0499 900 272 or email ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com and speak to one of our friendly staff.
BJ is looking forward to meeting you and he is currently located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
