About Jack
Meet Jack, a lovable and loyal 7-year-old cattle dog mix who is ready to find his forever home. Jack is a well-mannered, house-trained dog who thrives as an indoor pet, eagerly seeking to be an integral part of his family's daily life. His gentle and friendly nature makes him an ideal companion for both adults and children, though he would appreciate meeting any kids in the home beforehand to ensure a smooth transition.
Jack has lived harmoniously with cats in the past, demonstrating his adaptable and easygoing temperament. However, a slow and careful introduction to any new feline friends is recommended to make sure everyone feels comfortable and safe.
Jack is also very dog-friendly and would love to have a canine companion in his new home. He enjoys socializing with other dogs and would be thrilled to go on playdates or visits to see other dogs.
This affectionate and devoted dog is not just looking for a place to stay but a family to love and protect. Jack's sweet demeanor and well-behaved manners make him a wonderful addition to any household ready to welcome him into their hearts.
To book a meet and greet with Jack please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
