About Matilda (Tilly) *On Trial*
*matilda is currently trialling her new home* if you’re after an instant doggie family without going through the “puppy stage” you can’t go past this beautifully mannered pair!! matilda (tilly) and brian are absolutely delightful dogs, you can tell they’ve been loved and that time has been put into their training which is why their surrender to sarg for rehousing has been reluctant but we have promised to find them a wonderful home where they can be together as they always have been!!
rescued nearly 4½ years ago as young pups in wa, tilly and brian are brother and sister and although similar in size they really don’t look alike at all. And as to what breed’s they’re made up of it has stumped many different vets over the years who finally settled on the safe “cross breeds” for their description. Tilly kind of looks like a small labrador with maybe a little staffy thrown in whereas brian looks like he may have some shepherd or mastiff in him with his darker markings around his snout, but whatever they are it is a perfectly balanced blend as they are devine!!! tilly weighed in at a healthy 26. 4kgs at her last vet visit. Tilly has 3 white paws, a little on her chest and then is topped off by a spot at the tip of her tail. She is a little less outgoing than brian, since a bullet wound, which occurred when she was shot at by some idiot while living in tasmania a couple of years ago, has left her blind in her right eye with slight hearing loss as well – she’s lucky to be alive! she is still very affectionate just a little timid when it comes to loud noises coming from her right side. Tilly is described by her owner as enjoying human company, likes walks and outings, is willing to learn, likes one-on-one training, is self contained yet can be strong willed and is best with her brother brian who acts as her eyes and ears. She is a sweet, smoochy girl :)
tilly is housetrained, good with other dogs and children (her owners have a 3 month old baby who tilly adores!), walks well on a lead and is obedient unless in open bush then will go it alone with her brother for a short time before returning when called. Neither dog jumps up on you or is “in your face”, they’re fairly laidback and are not barkers, diggers or chewers. Tilly loves her food and has grown up on a varied diet of bones, chicken frames, oats, yoghurt, table scraps including veggies, good quality commercial dog food and a spoonful of psyllium husk each day to keep her regular on the inside. We would love to find matilda and brian a home together where they can enjoy an inside / outside lifestyle and be part of the households goings on though perhaps not with cats as they’ve never lived with one but will chase them from their yard. Secure fences, daily walks, bones to chew and toys to play with will make this lovely pair of dogs very happy indeed!!
if you think you’ve got the perfect home for this wonderful pair then please download and complete a sarg dog application form by following this link: http://www. Sarg. Net. Au/adoptapet. Html
please note: the adoption fee of $320 is for the pair. (the dogs have lived in wa, tasmania and are currently in mildura, victoria but now their owners need to move again though sadly this time the dogs can’t go with them hence the reluctant surrender)
Medical notes
Matilda is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and wormed. She is also on heartgard monthly chewable tablets. Weight: 26. 4kgs (as at 6/5/11)
