About Oreo
Say hello to this handsome boy, Oreo!
Oreo is a 3 year and 11-month-old Maltese x Shih Tzu, who came into care as a private surrender, through no fault of his own.
If you are looking for a lovable little ladies' man, then Oreo is definitely for you!
Oreo is a charming, affectionate, and playful companion who loves adults, kids, and female dogs! Oreo has declared himself as a no other male dog in the home type of guy and also has advised that if a cat is in the house he will chase and not for fun, so the rescue is saying a hard NO on other male dogs or cats in the home.
Oreo is 100% telling us that he is to be the only furry male in the home.
Oreo weighs 7.4kgs
Oreo loves to spend his time snuggling up on the lounge or bed for cozy naps and is often found on a human's bed snoozing.
Oreo loves going for a walk and had our foster carer convinced for the first few weeks that this was the only way he could do a poop............... well nope he can poop in the backyard all on his own and now walks are for enjoyment not poop patrol!!!!
Oreo will still happily go for as many walks as you want company and will happily show off his lead training skills - he will talk smack to another male dog walking past but will not (thankfully) back it up but best to keep him moving on.
Oreo also loves to go on a good beach run (loves to have the wind in his hair and his little legs running very fast so Oreo would not be upset at living by the beach)
Oreo loves to cuddle with his beloved toy monkey (it's his favorite comfort object!)
Oreo is not fussed on having another dog in the house, he's more interested in cuddles from his humans however would have no issue with a female small breed dog.
Oreo has a few special talents - Being a master snuggler, getting treats with his adorable puppy eyes, and being a pro at making new friends (as long as they're female dogs)!
Oreo is toilet trained.
Oreo would love a home where someone is home often to give him attention and love (of course he is, he's a small white fluffy - when you have ever seen them say noooooo go to work and I will run the house for 8+ hours????
I have a coat that requires grooming so please remember that is a life time commitment for me but the good news is in between grooms I will sit and let you brush me every day especially if you include a good back scratch!
Oreo would love a family with kids who will adore him or a single owner who wants a loyal companion, or a household with a female dog who needs a new best friend! Just remember, Oreo loves the ladies, so no male dogs or cats, please!
He's ready to bring joy and snuggles to his forever home!

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
