About Spot
Hi! I'm Spot and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
Size: Small
Weight: Under 5kg
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR SPOT
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/fA86QkZ5N6ahKj9V7
NOTE: You are unable to meet Spot until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Spot in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) I AM AN ESCAPE ARTIST
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promise to keep me well groomed and brush me regularly so I'm always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• I enjoy the company of other dogs my own size but am NOT keen on bigger dogs or dogs that don't match my calm energy.
• Short regular walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• A family that will love and care for me during my twilight years
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy and we must be introduced slowly.
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
My best features:
• Wiggle butt
• Gentle & placid
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I walk well on lead
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• I appear housetrained
• Well mannered
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I may show signs of anxiety when I'm left alone in the backyard. Leaving me some enrichment toys/treats may help this.
• I appear to be quiet vocal at times when left alone - a family who has a lot of time for me, allow me indoors and leave me with lots of mental enrichment when home alone is recommended
• I'm an old man and may not change too much in my ways.
