About Alaska - Located in Preston
Alaska is a strikingly handsome, fluffy cat with the most mesmerizing bright eyes. Don't let his somewhat shy and cautious demeanor fool you, as underneath that, he has an endearing personality full of surprising quirks awaiting to be discovered.
Alaska has a fondness for high places, and can often be found napping on the tallest piece of furniture, overlooking his domain in quiet contentment. He's a big fan of pats when resting, showing off a gentler and affectionate side of his personality. When he's not snoozing or surveying his surroundings, Alaska enjoys a good play session. Active in the afternoons and evenings, he's up for a game of fetch with a ball of tin foil or a paintbrush, providing countless moments of joyful interaction.
One can never have a dull moment with Alaska around because he's very chatty! His peculiar ways of communicating his feelings will surely warm your heart. He also holds a special love for hand-fed treats, enthusiastically indulging in his slow feeder puzzle bowls — an activity as delightful for him as it is for you to watch.
Alaska is comfortable with his carefree indoor lifestyle. It provides him with safety from the big bad world and importantly protects his precious white nose and ears from cancer causing sunburn.
While social by nature, Alaska will be best suited to a family without other pets. His quiet and sweet personality would thrive in a calm environment where he is ensured maximum comfort, security, and adoration.
Like many cats, Alaska finds a change in environment (moving house, going to the vet, holiday boarding) very stressful. These types of situations can cause Alaska to lash out at those around him, so some pre-planning is essential for a smooth transition. Alaska will need a patient family that will allow plenty of time and space for him to adjust to his new surroundings one room at a time.
If you provide a loving sanctuary for his fluffy highness, he will offer you an unending stream of joy, love, and pure entertainment. So, are you ready to welcome Alaska into your heart and home?
Medical notes
Alaska becomes stressed at the vets and develops a heart murmur during these stressful times.
He has recently had an echo performed and there are only mild structural changes, none of which require medication or are causing him issues at this time. His murmur also disappears when he is under full sedation suggesting it has a physiological cause.
His vets have recommended regular health checks every 6-12 months to monitor the murmur. He may require another Echo in the future if anything changes.
