About Owl
Just a girl who loves her bed...
Meet Owl,
Owl is a gentle, sweet & affectionate girl. She stares at you with the biggest eyes in the southern hemisphere, willing you to pat her. She can be a little shy or timid when you first meet her but she is a very agreeable cat with a friendly, social & curious nature.
Owl is suitable for first time owners and is best suited to a home that is calm & quiet as loud noises can startle her.
Owl is open to meet kids from around 5 years & up, reason for this is due to her slight timidity and her love of a peaceful home. Kids 5 & up may be able to understand her more & give her the space she needs to settle. In addition to this, Owl likes to be picked up, carried, cuddled & held & she loves to be petted everywhere.
As we cannot test in the environment how Owl would go living with dogs, this is something that would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
As for cats, Owl previously lived with cats, in fact she came in with her son Owen (ID: 11313) and Owl has met a few other cats in the cattery too. She met Niylah and we witness them chatting & chirping to each other.
Owl should be an indoor only cat, the big outside world coupled with her sweet, sensitive disposition we fear will spell disaster as she was wander from the home & get lost or worst. Being inside will allow her to be safe at all times.
Owl’s energy needs are low – she may occasionally be playful as she has shown some interest in fluffy toys, but she mainly likes her bed.
Owl loves any food offered to her & always uses her litter tray without any fuss.
Staff Comments: Owl is very sweet. She loves to snooze in her bed most of the day and she is a nice, chill cat who loves to be petted everywhere!
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask if that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
