About Kit
Kit a middle-aged gentlemen (goofball) looking for a quiet family home where he can get lots of snuggles to enjoy his mature years in dignity, comfort and stability.
Kit is a big black domestic short hair with one white whisker, and prominent fangs that make him extra adorable. He is a little reserved until he gets to know new people, but is very talkative and affectionate - and food motivated!
He has grown up with and lived around a variety of animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, quail, chickens, small dogs), with the exception of large breed dogs. While Kit is tolerant of polite dogs that respect his space, he has not been particularly interested in getting to know them in the past.
Unfortunately due to some major life changes and circumstances beyond their control, Kit's family have had to make the difficult decision to find him a new family and home that can offer him the environment and lifestyle that he deserves and will thrive in.
Kit would love nothing better than to be able to spend his time enjoying cuddles and pats, curling up on the couch to watch tele with his humans, snoozing in the sun (indoors, or in an enclosed yard), or playing when the mood takes him.
He is an excellent bed warmer and takes his duty of escorting everyone to the toilet during the night VERY seriously.
If you are looking for low-key love and companionship, then look no further. This big boy will there for you, and he will even meet you at the door when you come home.
Homes with boisterous environments, highly excitable children, highly excitable/barking dogs or large male cats, or multiple other resident cats are not suitable for this boy. He requires an indoor-only home or enclosed outdoor access (catio, enclosed yard).
Adoption fee: $150
Medical notes
Kit is desexed and requires a wet food diet - we would prefer to see him remain on a balanced raw diet if possible - to prevent urinary problems.
Kit has previously had most of his teeth removed (except canines) due to recurrent gingivitis when he was younger.
He is receiving a course of cartrophen injections to assist with age-related joint stiffness.
Adoption details
Applicants will under-go a screening process and meet & greet process before an adoption is approved. A house inspection may be required for cats that will be indoor-outdoor cats.
