About Gus
We would like to introduce you to one of our newest members of our rescue - GUS.
Gus found himself on the side of the road, dumped and abandoned in a rural farming area in NSW. Fortunately he was picked up and taken to the nearby pound and more fortunately, came to our attention, and we brought him up to our rescue because we just had to give him a chance. He was the PTS list. We couldn't let that happen.
Gus has undergone his initial quarantine period, vet work and behaviour assessments. He is a healthy young lad with lots of energy. He has integrated well with the other dogs at our rescue centre and loves to run and play. We expect it is likely he would prefer an active family with a larger yard. We believe he would fit very well into being a sole dog, although with introduction, would be a good companion for a high energy female day who would play all day.
Gus is currently with a foster family who have taken him for walks on his lead. He does not react to other dogs on the walk, but did initially like to react to cars going past. With some gentle correction he has overcome this now and walks quite nicely.
He loves a good bone to chew on, but most importantly, loves a good old scratch on his tummy. He will suffer that torture for hours.
Good fencing, space to run, lots of family fun and play is all Gus is after. He has good recall to his name and with ongoing training and commitment, this little man is destined to be a champion.
