Introducing Sweetest Sophie!

This girl came into our care completely terrified of everyone, but with patience, she has shown her true fun, loving personality ❤️

HOUSEHOLD - Sophie will need time, patience, and understanding from her new owners while she adjusts to her new home environment. It takes her longer to be completely at ease when meeting new males, preferring the company of a female handler until she knows she is safe. At this stage, Sophie requires an adult home.

ON GOING TRAINING - Sophie has been learning basic manners and obedience while in our care. This will need to be continued by her new family. Her main areas that need correction are jumping and mouthing, much like a puppy.

ON LEASH - If Sophie is with a handler she is familiar with, she is confident while on lead and can at times pull. When unsure of her surroundings, Sophie requires extra guidance from her handler to help her navigate the walk.

PLAY/TOYS - Sophie has shown some interest in toys but loves to play with her handler instead.

OTHER DOGS - When Sophie is introduced to a canine buddy, she play bows to initiate play. Although she is dog social, she requires further dog socialisation to develop her social skills.

CATS/OTHER ANIMALS - Sophie is not suitable to be housed with a feline friend.

CARE/GROOMING - Sophie enjoys all over body handling. Her short staffy coat will require regular brushing and a bath when needed.

EXERCISE - Sophie is a shy girl at times. To improve her confidence so she gets more enjoyment from what the outdoors has to offer, Sophie will benefit from regular walks in different locations and ongoing dog socialisation.

BREED - English Staffy X, DOB 16/6/21

Sophie is located at our Charmhaven Shelter. Her reduced $200 adoption fee covers microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, current vaccination, flea and worming treatments 🐾
