Marigold - 1 Year Old Husky X Kelpie

Pure gold, that’s the way to describe this amazingly gentle dog. Poor Marigold was just skin and bones when she came into care with her 7 x 1 week old puppies. Although virtually a puppy still herself at 12 months old, she’s been an amazing and patient mum.

Despite her rough start Marigold has the kindest, gentlest soul. She’s being fostered in a home with 3 active young boys and another dog. Before that, she lived with 6 children of varied ages. She just takes it in her stride, the noise and the comings and goings of their friends. Marigold adores her Moodle foster sibling, and rumbles and tumbles with her as much as she can.

Marigold loves doing zoomies, she also loves pats and tummy rubs. She’s getting used to cuddles, which she’d never experienced before coming into care. She is incredibly affectionate, and bonds quickly to the human who feeds her and shows kindness.

Her toilet training is a work-in-progress and her new family will need to be patient whilst this gets sorted. She’s crate trained, sleeping through the night without incident. She will also happily go to her crate for quiet time during the day.

On lead, Marigold will stay by your side and obey basic commands. Though not reactive to other dogs, she is reactive to birds, chickens, ducks and rabbits. Despite her trainer working on this reactivity, it’s unlikely she’ll master this well enough to be homed with any pets other than dogs. It’s expected she’d do well going on social outings with her new family. Whatever is going on around her, she has this unique ability to just accept and adapt.

Now desexed and without puppies to care for, this is Marigold’s time to be spoilt. She is perfect for a young family, or a couple. She would very much love another dog as a companion. Marigold will need a yard with high fences as she has little springs in her feet.

Marigold is a very, very, special dog, who wins the heart of everyone who meets her. Maybe she can win your heart too.

Marigold is in foster care in Anna Bay (Newcastle area), NSW. She is available for adoption interstate. Her adoption fee is $500, and she is fully vaccinated, desexed, treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped.
