About Marlene
Marlene: The Quintessential Lap Cat
Meet Marlene, a charming feline with a heart as warm as her fluffy coat. At 8 years and 9 months old, Marlene has perfected the art of affection and companionship. This super loving cat adores her cuddles, always eager to snuggle up and bask in the warmth of human company.
Marlene is a true connoisseur of comfort, often found nestled in her cozy beds, dreaming the day away. Her gentle purrs and contented sighs make her the perfect companion for anyone seeking a serene and loving presence. Whether it's curling up on a lap or finding a sunny spot to lounge in, Marlene's favorite pastime is simply enjoying the soothing rhythm of daily life.
Her friendly nature extends beyond humans, making her a delightful addition to any multi-pet household. Marlene gets along well with other cats, embracing them as part of her extended family.
What Marlene yearns for most is a forever home where she can indulge in her favorite activities: sleeping, cuddling, and eating to her heart's content. If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate, and low-key feline friend, Marlene is the perfect match to bring warmth and joy to your home.
To book a meet and greet with Marlene please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
