About Acey
Are you looking for the best dog in town?
Look no further.
Acey is Ace, you really can’t fault this little dude lAcey is a gentle little Jack Russell x now seeking his forever family
Acey is the sweetest little guy with his big puppy dog eyes, he as a beautiful gentle nature and calm happy demeanour. He is totally adorable and you will fall in love with him immediately
Favourite things
Meeting new friends
Hanging out with his fur pals
All over body scratches and paw massages
Walks and sniffing
Interactions with humans
Acey came to rescue from a property where he most probably didn’t meet to many new people so he can be initially quite hesitant of people but if you sit down quietly he will come over with a little tail wag and give you a sniff. In a short period of time he is now giving his foster mum sooooo many kisses and cuddles and just loves being given back rubs and ear rubs. He will require a patient and gentle home that is quiet and loving. He will definitely give you 100% back.
Interaction with other animals
Acey loooovves other dogs and is eager to meet everyone but we have been encouraging him to walk on. At the local park where a Gang of Four legged friends gather he’s is so excited to say Hi to all the new faces, that little bum and tails wags are in overdrive so we deem him to be dog social
Acey can be a bit protective around food so if rehomed with another dog we suggest supervised feeding and separate treat area if given a bone ect. He is fine taking small treats around other dogs. Acey is NOT A fan of cats. He wants to chase and being a jack russell he will not be rehomed with any other pocket pets or chickens.
Training and obedience
Acey has not had a lot of training, he thinks sit means stand up on your back legs and see what’s in your hand, a cute party trick lol. He is learning to wait, knows outside but really he is a well mannered dude inside the home showing no destructive traits and very easy going
Independence
Acey has not barked whilst in care. If he sees a possum he’s very interested and will let out a whine and that’s about it so extremely quiet little guy. He is happy outside, will stay outside during the day as well as at night but also does like the inside comforts of a cosy dog bed inside the doggy lounge room.
Inside the home
Acey is polite inside the house and has not shown any destructive traits. He’s an extremely quiet boy. He does like to get up for a snuggle on the couch but easily directed to his bed
Toileting and Hygiene
Acey has an easy to care for coat that needs a brush now and again. He is a bit of a shedder and has a medium coat length
Acey has done a bit of marking inside the house but that has settled now ( he did have three other boys in the home) and it’s not uncommon in the settling in period. He is learning to use the doggy door. Aceys teeth are in great condition
Car travel
Acey is a little nervous traveling in the car so he is lifted in but does settle very well. He is given a treat reward for being brave to get in the car. With more exposure time he will be great
Exercise and enrichment
This boy loves his walks
He likes to sniff the daily news and leave his comments too. He doesn’t need a big walk and is quite satisfied with a walk around the block and then every couple of days a longer stroll. He can be a little pully on the lead but is not overly strong being a small fella but may be a bit to much for an elderly person
He enjoys high value chews to keep him entertained. He is content to sleep and rest throughout the day.
Acey doesn’t seem to know much about toy play
Food
Acey likes his food and eats politely, gentle with treats. Currently he’s the perfect weight and being fed a high quality dry kibble. Supervised feeding around other dogs as he doesn’t like his meal to be interrupted
Sleep
Acey will sleep wherever you put him and you won’t hear a peep all night. He’s slept inside and outside on the deck
