About Kita Bean
We are going to be honest with you, Kita's story is confronting.
She was found starved and emaciated with her history showing she comes from a backyard breeder. Our little sweetheart is lacking confidence with most things and is going to need a caring family that is ready to let her true personality shine. We won't lie - Kita Bean is going to need some work - she hasn't had the foundation skills that most dogs have had. She is avoidant of new people to start with - but once she realizes they mean no harm you will be showered with kisses and affection from her.
Kita lacks basic skills so we encourage lots of force-free positive training to help her get up to speed - just remember she is still young so will pick things up quickly. She loves food, and is consistently showing her cheeky side and stealing the staff's lunches from their desks when they are not looking.
Since being at the Lost Dogs Home, Kita has evolved from a shy girl to an excited lady with the staff that she knows. She actively seeks out interaction with people that she has built a bond with and adores being lavished with attention. She is a beautifully natured dog despite what she has been through. Kita has been spending time hanging out in the offices with the staff to help build her confidence. You can regularly see her doing little zoomies around the chairs and playing with her favourite stuffed toys.
While Kita has showed some positive interactions with other dogs - right now she needs to be the only dog in the home while she gains her confidence back, with ongoing positive reinforcement and slow, positive introductions she may like a friend in the future. This is the same for children. Little children can be intimidating for dogs like Kita so we highly recommend that all people in the household be older and have the ability to give Kita her space when she needs it.
If you are that one-in-a-million person with patience and a gentle soul, then please come in and meet Kita. She would love a home and we would love to help support you through your journey with her.
Kita 20kgs xx
