About Bellamy
Bellamy, this charming big guy with a golden heart, is ready to find his new family. His laid-back personality and independent spirit mean he adores company, be it human or animal, but is also more than content to have some chill time by himself.
Bellamy loves to play with his foster siblings but also enjoys simply watching the ducks waddle around his yard. He has a soft spot for enrichment food toys and won't shy away from a nice snuggle, whether it's with his foster siblings or his humans. When the sun's out, you'll find him sunbathing in the yard, or perhaps hogging the heater on a chilly morning.
Despite his size, Bellamy has a playful side. He's been known sleep with pilfered clothes - fear not, he doesn't chew them, merely carries them gently!
Bellamy's training regime has set him up for success. He is crate trained and has free access to it during the day but tidies away between the hours of 8pm-7am for fuss free bedtimes. His habits are exceptional; he keeps his resting spot clean as long as he can reach the outside for his toilet needs. He's all up-to-date on his vet checks, vaccinations, and microchipping. Currently, he's on a diet of royal canin giant puppy kibble and is up-to-date with his flea, tick, and worming preventatives.
His social aptitude is impressive. He has been well socialized with other dogs, humans, children, and even birds. While he hasn't been tested with feline company, we have every confidence that, given time and a proper introduction, he wouldn't mind sharing his space with a cat or two.
Given Bellamy's breed, be prepared for him to grow into a stately dog of roughly 80kg. Don't let this size deter you - with that growth comes a wellspring of love, loyalty, and a companionship that's sure to make every day a joy.
Medical notes
Bellamy suffered an injury at 6 weeks of age that resulted in a slight facial deformity caused by nerve damage to his left upper lip that causes his unique but loveable face. Now while he may look a little different this injury does NOT impact his quality of life in any way!
He can still eat, drink, bark, chew, wrestle etc like any dog, he simply looks a little different.
The muscle tightness causes his left eye, which is fully functional and unaffected, to squint a bit but is expected to continue to lessen in effect as he grows, which he undoubtably will!
Whilst it is predicted that his facial deformity will continue to lessen as he grows it is not something we can guaranteed.
