Meet Maverick – 9-Month-Old Cattle Dog Mix Looking for His Forever Home!

Maverick is a sweet and gentle 9-month-old Cattle Dog x with a heart of gold. He’s the type of dog who takes treats politely, listens intently, and is a dream on a leash – walking with ease and confidence. If you’re someone who loves road trips, Maverick is your perfect co-pilot. He LOVES the car and is always ready for an adventure!

One of Maverick’s favourite pastimes is spending time outdoors. He’s a huge fan of the beach and especially enjoys splashing around in the water and the hose is his personal joy – he’ll happily chase the spray all day long. Quite often, you’ll find Maverick sunbaking in the back yard on sunny days.

At home, Maverick is a calm, affectionate companion. He’s a cuddler who loves to snuggle and show affection through kisses and loves to be close to his humans. He is far from a picky eater and enjoys pumpkin, potato, strawberries, bananas, apple, blueberries and the list goes on! Maverick is also not a jumper, making him an easy-going presence in the home and well behaved around kids. His loving nature will melt your heart.

Maverick does have some anxiety and can be reactive at times, but it’s more fear-based, and not from an aggressive place. With patience and consistency, he will flourish in a calm and understanding environment. Maverick would thrive in a home that can provide him with the structure and reassurance he needs, especially with continued positive reinforcement and socialization.

Maverick came into care as a young pup with significantly infected ears that resulted in hematomas forming and required surgery. His hearing has not been affected in any way, trust me, he can hear the fainted crinkle of a packet in another room when he is sound asleep! He is affectionately known as ‘corn chip’ with his cute little triangle shaped bumpy ears we all love.

Currently living with a 7 month old staffy x brother and both a brother and sister who are 8 year old maltese x silkies, Maverick loves having company and someone to rough house and play with, however, he can be selective with new friends and prefers those smaller than himself so a meet and greet will be needed for any home with current fur friends.

Maverick is in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW. His adoption fee is $600, he is microchipped, vaccinated, desexed and treated for fleas and worms.
