Introducing the beautiful Maia!

To start with, Maia is a girl who needs people who will be patient and will take things slowly with her .. but once she gets to know you - she will shower you with some much love!!!!!!

Maia was quite nervous and timid when she first came to the shelter so we placed her in a foster home so she could build her confidence! She went to a foster home where there was another dog and while it took her a couple of days to come out of her shell, she opened up and showed her foster humans how sweet she can be!

Once she realised she was in a safe environment, the goofy puppy antics started! Always wagging her tail, absolutely LOVED cuddles and she was fantastic with the adult dog in the home (we were told her cheeky puppy personality was on full display on her last day in foster care!!!).

Maia would greatly benefit from a home with a mature (secondary school-aged and older) family willing to commit to following up on her training and refining her social skills. Maia will need a family committed to force-free and positive reinforcement training methods to help her master all her tricks.

Due to her nervousness, she would benefit from someone being home more often than not whilst she is settling in, but once she warms up she has A LOT of puppy energy! When she is left alone enrichment toys such as kongs, snuffle mats and treat puzzles would be great ways to keep her busy and relieve her anxiety.
