Our amazing, gentle and sweet senior Doberman girl “ Elegance “ as we lovingly call her “Ellie” is now ready to find her forever “Foster” home.

Our special of the most specialist girls will only go the the foster home that will love her just as much as we have grown too

We have decided to keep “ Ellie” under the rescue umbrella to ensure she receives everything she needs so therefore have chosen to seek and forever Foster home with a view to adopt down the track

By keeping her under our rescue umbrella this ensures all medical costs remain with us and Ellie will always have a full support network from our team .

Ellie’s Vet care is currently under the care of Lower Plenty veterinary clinic and we will be seeking her new forever home to be in the vicinity of this clinic to maintain continuity
She will initially require monthly check ins but we foresee this could extend in duration
We are also seeking a forever home that are prepared to take her to hydrotherapy sessions for 6 weeks to assist with muscle and core strength building
Again this expense will be covered by us .

Ellie came to us in terrible condition
She has had a terrible ordeal and we simply cannot believe her loyalty to humans and we have all just fallen in love with her wonderful temperament and amazing gratitude she shows

MEDICAL
Ellie has had numerous tests , treatments and the following are her medical conditions and current treatments

Diagnosis
Chronic Arthritis in neck and spine
Current treatment
She is currently on medication including an anti inflammatory , pain relief and a Joint supplement
Ellie is also on weekly arthritis injections and is on week 6/8
Improvement
Ellie now runs around and enjoys walks , zooming around the yard and her movement has dramatically improved

Diagnosis
Muscle wastage in back legs
Treatment
Daily light exercise
Hydrotherapy ( To be completed)
Improvement
Ellie is building up her muscles and core strength and can lay down and get up with little effort

Body score low
Ellie is increasing her weight at a good steady pace
We are mindful that we do not want her overweight to add any pressure on her joints and muscles
She is food fussy but has gained 1-1/2 kilos

Diagnosis
Rotten teeth
Ellie has now had a full dental surgery completed and rotten teeth removed

Bloodwork and tests
Ellie’s bloodwork shows all are within good range

ELLIE is a sweet loving and well behaved girl who adores her foster dad
She follows him around the house watching everything he does
She sleeps on her bed in his room and occasionally gets up in the middle of the night to check he’s ok
She is polite with other dogs but not interested in playing with them but will say hi and go about her own business . We do prefer Ellie to be an only dog as we definitely do not want a younger dog that will jump all over her but a well mannered and kinder older dog home would be considered
She is required to continue to enjoy a daily walk to ensure her exercise is maintained and she MUST be allowed indoors as she feels the cold and loves to be a couch potato

We are seeking a home with a nice secure grassed yard as she is now really enjoying her zoom around the yard

She has meet children of the smaller size and is kind and gentle with them but if there are small children in residence we are seeking dog savvy please

As stated we will continue to finance her medical needs ongoing but we are seeking THE MOST PERFECT forever foster home for our beautiful girl
