Sweet young Sirocco has had the most terrible life before he came into Starting Over Dog Rescues care. His scarred little body shows what a hard environment he grew up in, BUT we challenge you to find a sweeter and more gentle boy.

Half his ear hacked off and a jagged scar across his face from a shovel or axe, is the least of his issues when he found himself needing rescue. A severe fracture in his leg which he was made to walk on for many months causing it to heal wrong, he required a femoral head ostectomy (hip ball joint removal) which he has been recovering from and is still having physio and hydrotherapy to build up the muscle that has wasted. He has also had ectropion surgery (eyelid reconstruction) and may require another eyelid surgery in the future, he is still too young to know yet.

Sirocco loves everyone and everyone who meets him comments about how quiet and gentle he is. He has started to do zoomies and loves to play with toys, especially squeaky toys. He lives with two cats and would be fine with dog savvy cats and likes to play with other dogs also.

Only still a pup, he is looking for a home where he is allowed inside, sleeping on your bed if possible (you will have to force him out in the morning, he sleeps through the night like a log...he snores too) and he loves kids as well, although being a typical mouthy pup he would be best suited to a home with primary school kids.

He came into care as a Staffy x however everyone who meets him see's the Sharpei in him. He is a lot calmer than a Staffy too and is ok being on his own for a few hours each day too.

Being young, he still needs some training and is very responsive and enjoys learning. He is great on lead and his recall is off the charts, he doesn't leave his foster mums side. He needs a person. Someone he can bond with and who loves to kiss and cuddle and talk to him. He will make the most phenomenal bestie for a very lucky family. Are you maybe the person he is waiting for?

Starting Over Dog Rescue will cover the cost of 6 physio sessions (currently seeing physio in Mornington) and the cost of his future eye surgery, if needed and only through a SODR approved vet.
