About Django
Meet Django.
He's an incredibly sweet little boy, with some medical issues. He is half Scottish Fold saved from the pound, he was born there and his mum surrendered by an irresponsible backyard breeder when she no longer was profitable in breeding.
He has a joint condition affecting Scottish Folds called Osteochrondrodysplasia. It affected all 4 of his limbs, he had swimmers syndrome in his back legs that was successfully treated but unfortunately we couldn't do anything to repair the congenital defects in his elbows.
Devastatingly, we have been told he will have severe arthritis in his malformed elbows early in life, and will likely not have a very long life because of it. Regardless, his quality of life currently in phenomenal and he has no idea he's different. He is a fun loving, playful and affectionate boy, and while we know his life won't be long we hope this dear boy can find a family to love him to bits for as long as he is able to enjoy a good quality of life.
He will require joint support once his early onset arthritis becomes a bother to him, likely at only a few years old or sooner - it's hard to predict.
A full medical history will be provided to applicants and any willing to give this darling boy a chance at a happy life for as long as he is able to, will be able to have a consultation free of charge with his veterinarian to discuss treatment options for his arthritis down the line, and expected costs involved etc.
We are strong believers in complete transparency when it comes to medical conditions with our rescue animals, and while we know Django won't have a long life we are desperately hopeful he gets the chance at a loving family despite the challenges life has thrown at him.
Could you be Django's happily ever after? We would love to tell you more about him. He's a gorgeous boy, who almost lost his life at only days old, as he was deemed too malformed by the pound. He's beaten all the odds so far - he deserves a chance at happiness! 😻

Medical notes
Django has a condition called feline osteochondrodysplsia, or Scottish Fold Disease (a gene that causes malformations and painful osteoarthritis even in young cats).
His dad is a Scottish Fold.
He came to us as just a little baby, with severe swimmers syndrome in his back legs and malformed front limbs.
We treated his Swimmer's successfully, sadly his elbow dysplasia is not treatable - we have been advised to manage his early onset arthritis for as long as he is able to get around happily & pain free. He has grown into a handsome, affectionate little boy and is so ready to find his forever home!.
While we know Django will likely not have a long life - his elbow condition meaning he is already developing arthritis - we have our minds set on finding a home where Django can experience what it means to have a warm, loving family for as long as he is able to. Currently, Django is on fish oil supplements for his joints, and is receiving a course of arthritis injections to help keep his joints as healthy as possible.
He will require 6-monthly injections for joint support, and daily oral fish-oil supplements
