About Waffles - Located in Richmond
Oh lawd she's comin'... Meet our sweet-natured mega-chonk 'Waffles'. This adorable friendly feline has a "chonky" charm that will melt your heart. Despite needing to shed a few pounds, her personality is light and full of love.
Waffles is a chatty cat with a sweet soul. She's enthusiastic about food and will probably greet you with a heartwarming 'meow' every time she sees you, hoping for some treats. Waffles has began her ambitious weight loss journey and will need to remain on a strict portioned diet, designed to foster healthy weight loss and promote her general wellbeing.
While this rotund lady has a fondness for lazy mornings, afternoons and nights, she will need some gentle encouragement to engage in exercise. Waffles loves chasing toys like a red dot laser pointer or a ribbon on a wand. A simple and quick daily grooming session with a soft brush is needed to make sure her coat is looking her best (especially the spots that she can't quite reach due to her tubby belly).
Waffles’ best quality is undoubtedly her sociable nature. She's a cat who adores the company of humans, making her an ideal companion. Responding warmly to attention, she embodies the word "smoochy" and doesn't shy away from showing affection and accepting cuddles in return.
Despite her laid-back countenance, she’s a lovely girl with a gentle personality. An absolute sweetheart who's looking for a new home, and a place where she can continue her journey to a fit, healthy physique alongside her family of humans. So, if you’re someone who cherishes health, fun, and a hearty friend who is as sweet as a Sunday morning waffle, she might be the perfect companion for you!
Medical notes
Waffles is medically well but needs to continue her weight loss journey. She is on a restricted diet and on prescription weight loss food.
WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
