About Faith
Meet Faith,
Faith is looking for a home with a family who is patient and kind. Someone who will show her that there is no need to be afraid of humans. Faith adores the ACF staff but is quite reserved when meeting new people. Faith relies on her bond with the staff to make her feel safe.
Faith came in to us extremely shut down. She would hiss, run away and hide. She did not want anything to do with us & was incredibly scared. During her time with us she has gotten more confident, but she is still so unsure of people. When we attempt to pat her she will attempt to make herself as small as possible & she will try & hide under her bed, but after a few minutes of constant touching & gentle pats she starts purring and will even roll over on to her back and start making air biscuits. She spent a night with one of our staff & it was during this time that we saw how content & comfy she was being in a home. Sure it took her a few hours to settle but when she did we were able to see a completely different side of her.
Faith would really blossom in a home environment.
Faith should be strictly indoors. Reason for this is due to her timidity. Going outside may undo all the progress she has made since coming into our care. The outside world is big & can be very scary for a small kitten.
Just like all kittens, Faith would love a cat tree to climb on and scratch, and an assortment of toys to play with. She should be fed kitten food multiple times a day to ensure that she grow up big and strong.
She is already litter trained, but it’s best to show her where the litter tray is when you get home to minimise any accidents.
If you’ve got other animals at home, that’s okay, just make sure that they have a slow introduction.
Can you open your heart and home to a shy kitty like Faith ?
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask if that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
