Grovar

Grovar is an adorable Poodle x ( Spaniel) who now seeks his forever family home
He is always happy to see his humans and loves to spend his time going for daily walks. Snooze in the sun and hang out with his people.

Grovar has had major dental surgery and had 12 teeth removed. Has been Groomed, Bloods done, Dexesed Vaccinated and Microchipped so its all smooth sailing from here for our beautiful senior boy

Favorite things
Grovar loves meandering among a pack in the dog park. He has been going there a lot recently and will greet all and get along fine. As an older dog, he's not really into eager play, but will from time to time do a little chasing.
He is not playful with toys, but occasionally shows interest in throwing his favorite cushion about.lol
He would spend all his time indoors given the choice, so gets 'put out' on nice days to get some sun. When that happens, he enjoys exploring. He is still very fit and very active and likes a good walk every day.

Grovar greets everyone equally and as a senior dog doesn't get too excited. If you sit, he'll come to you nicely. He doesn't chase a ball, or play tug-of-war with a rope for long. However, if you are just sitting outside, he'll be pleased to just do his own thing nearby. He does try to do 'mouth-play' with people and it looks a bit like a nip. An "A-ah Grovar" stops him.

Grovar interacts well enough with other dogs, but will get annoyed if they pester him. He showed a little aggression once - out of jealousy, but it was all bark and he got over it. Based on this we feel Grovar is best suited as an only dog so he can live peacefully

Grovar has a mix of obedience.He is still learning his name as he had no name when he arrived. However, if he sees you holding out a treat, or offering a pat, he will come over. Sometimes, he'll decide it's time for something and will bark away. If it's a pat and cuddle, he'll be content.
On occasions he does bark a bit when put outside to come back in but a firm telling off and he will settle down

Grovar does not like having his feet touched and made sure the Groomer knew this when he was groomed so this is something his future groomers need to be aware of

Grovar has been spending much of his day in the sunroom with access to the back yard where he explores a little. He would spend almost all his time lying on the dog couch if I let him. He is very pleased when he gets some company and will happily find things to do nearby if you just take in the sun yourself. He likes to bark at other dogs as they pass the side fence, or if there is some interesting noises, otherwise he is quiet.
Definitely enjoys daily exercise where he can stretch his legs and keep his mind stimulated. He has also been getting an hour or so at the local dog park where he has been getting a lot of socialization. In addition to that, he enjoys a good 30 minute walk around the neighborhood every other day or so.
Inside the home
He is so easy-going, that I let him have access to the house in the evenings without concern, though the bedroom doors are closed.
He'll explore a little and find somewhere near to nap. He has on occasion, had the zoomies lol which is hilarious for a senior dog . We do not allow him on the humans furniture as he does occasionally want to take ownership of it so Gravar must have boundaries set in place to ensure this does not occur
As a senior dog he does NOT like being woken up from a deep sleep and startled which is absolutely understandable so we are definitely seeking a home with NO children
Grovar is toilet trained, he sleeps in the sunroom and will take himself out to the toilet as needed.

Car travel
Grovar travels very well in the back, secured and able to look out the window. He thinks it's a trip to the park!
Sleeping
He will find a warm spot on the dog couch if you let him, or a dog bed as suitable.

A nice quiet home with inside outside access
A home that can take him on a daily walk
We feel that children in the home is definitely not for him as he isn't a dog what would be happy with children running around or annoying him
A home where boundaries are set and he is not allowed on furniture as to not create a guarding concern
We feel a dog savvy cat would be fine
Someone who is home more often than not and can love and cherish our gorgeous boy
