About Monet
Beautiful Monet is a lynx point Burmese x ragdoll and she was born in January of this year. When she first came into the Haven she was very scared and very unwell. She had cat flu that just wouldn’t go away. She was on antibiotics for quite awhile.
Thankfully, after a few weeks she got a break from her symptoms and was well enough to be desexed. But; the stress of that procedure flared up her symptoms again but this time she got pneumonia. She’s been fighting off the symptoms of cat flu ever since. Her lungs are scarred and inflamed.
Monet is a beautiful 5 month old white lynx point Burmese x ragdoll kitten who will need to be an only cat (or live with another cat with the same condition) as she has chronic bronchitis that will likely develop into feline asthma later in her life. What this means is she will always be sneezing due to the constant inflammation of her sinus and nasal passage. Her airways are narrowed because of this inflammation, so she will always have a cough and low levels of energy. She can still have a great life; she will just need a home that is calm and relaxed - a home that doesn’t have children running around in it and a home that doesn’t use a lot of chemicals for cleaning as the scented products will irritate her airways. Strictly a non smoker home!
She has 70% lung capacity and has steadily maintained this now for over a month. Monet has a beautiful soul and would love to curl up next to her person when the nights are cold.
Her quality of life is still very high and the opportunity of a home that’s perfect for her is out there - I just know it!
Please do not apply if you are not able to give her the kind of home that she needs. Yes she is beautiful - but she is fragile in the sense that she can break if she’s not handled with care. She is quite a shy girl when she first meets you, but I would be too after all the poking and prodding she’s had to endure the past few months!
Monet is located in Parkdale and bookings are now available to meet her.
