About Rusty Potato
Rusty Potato was originally called Fried Potato but we decided to rename him and he gets a lot of different nicknames. Rusty is quick and active, he is in high social play time and wants to burn a lot of energy. Even though he did not have friends when he came to us, he quickly adopted Tas and Huon as his besties.
Rusty was a small, emaciated kitten who started on kitten milk replacement formula when we first got him, and he still will have a small amount if offered. Quickly he grew and his confidence increased. Rusty found other animals, especially cats pretty scary and he is not convinced that our feline-friendly dog is not the enemy. We are not sure about his previous young weeks, so maybe he was really scared by a dog. A home with a dog is not his preference, unless the dog has no interest in Rusty and he can have his own space without the dog around.
Rusty loves people, he is cuddler and a needy kit found on your lap whenever you are sitting down or prowling around your laptop looking for a spot to be. He does seek out human attention, loves kisses on his head and laying in your arms like a baby. We get that he is pretty and everyone seems to think ginger cats are rare, but you need to be prepared for a ginger kit. His energy is high, he is best suited to have another play friend or a family who can keep him busy. Lots of enrichment is needed. He has not lived with children, so we are not sure how he would cope.
Rusty loves to cuddle with the other cats, he likes our older kittens and some of the adult cats. He has learnt to seek out the adult food and steal it whilst they are not eating, so he has that always hungry ginger personality. Rusty is a large potato and needs to be watched that he doesn't become a chubby potato. Hopefully you have enough energy to keep him active.
Does Rusty Potato sound like your ideal friend?
Medical notes
Rusty has been desexed and microchipped. He has had only 1 vaccination and requires 2 more to be considered fully vaccinated.
