About Magnolia
Abandoned on a property that fortunately already had pet chickens, Magnolia is a spirited and resilient chook. She has shown incredible strength and adaptability despite being completely blind.
Magnolia is a gentle and affectionate hen. She squats down, ready for a pick-up and cuddle. Her lack of vision doesn't deter her spirit, she remains lively and adventurous, moving around without any issues as long as her environment remains consistent.
Currently, Magnolia is the only hen in the shelter, living with two Silkie roosters who were surrendered from another home. She relies on the presence of other chickens to make noise, guiding her to where the food and water are located. Her nesting box is kept close to the ground to ensure she can find it easily.
Magnolia's ideal home would be one with a smaller number of pet chickens as she may get picked on by large flocks. She should be watched closely the first few days to make sure she can access food, water and shelter and that her new friends are helping her and not keeping her from all the necessities.
If you can provide a loving and stable home for Magnolia, please contact us. She's waiting for someone to show her the kindness and care she so deeply deserves. Help Magnolia find her forever home and be the friend in her life that she has been searching for.
