About Puddles
They don’t come any more adorable than Puddles!
This little boy is just a bundle of fun and is such a scruffy sweetheart. Puddles is very affectionate with his foster carer. He loves to cuddle with you and get all the pats you will give him. Often he will sit in your lap a bit like a cat or will sprawl out on top of you if you’re lying down watching TV. Puddles is that dog who greets you with a happy face and a waggy tail whenever you arrive home. You can’t help but smile when he runs around playing or doing his zoomies. He is just too cute for words.
Puddles came into care from far western NSW. He lived with other dogs but was never taken out and about so everything in Sydney has been new to him. He is growing in confidence everyday and will continue to blossom over time with controlled exposure to new things. Puddles wants to make friends with people he meets but he can be overwhelmed by too much too soon from strangers. Although he only shows subtle signs in these situations, it is important that his new owner can recognise these and be ready to advocate for him. Social experiences should be kept positive, short, and on his terms, so that he is left wanting more and can continue to thrive. Once, he knows people, he is simply all over them showing them the love.
While in foster care, Puddles has lived with other dogs and came from a home with many other dogs. He has been learning how to meet new doggy friends out and about. At first, he was unsure and would bark, but he is more comfortable now and has made many doggy friends in the local area. Puddles loves to play with other dogs and run around with his friends. He is a relatively active little guy and will need a home that can provide him with regular playdates with known doggy friends and daily exercise.
Puddles has been learning all about living in a proper loving home. He loves finding the sunniest spots for his naps and sleeps through the night in his crate by his foster carer’s bed. Puddles is such a smart boy who is food motivated and learns really quickly. He has learnt to walk on the lead, sit and is now learning shake. His new owners will need to be committed to continuing his training as he is still young and has the potential to learn a great deal of cool things. Puddles is doing great with his toilet training and is able to be left at home with the resident dog. He is not suited to apartment living as he will alert bark at noises; however, he is not a nuisance barker. Puddles likes to go for car rides and is the type of pup who you could train up to take along with you wherever you like.
We are looking for an experienced home for Puddles with an above average level of knowledge of dog behaviour/language so that they can grow this little guy into a wonderful canine citizen. He would do well in a home with another friendly adult dog who is already fully trained and able to be a great role model for him. Puddles would also be fine to live as an only dog with owners who are home more often than not. He should be allowed to be inside to spend time with his owner and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night.
Puddles would do best in a suburban or quieter area rather than the inner city as he is still getting used to non-country life. He will need an adult only home or one with older children (>12yo) who are dog savvy and able to participate in his training as he is still exhibits some typical puppy behaviours if over aroused. Puddles is the type of pup who you can’t help but fall in love with. He is a great little dog with tonnes of personality and a super sweet and loving side.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
