About Rick
Introducing Rick, our spunky young man with the good looks to match.
This handsome young man has had a rough start to life but he is hoping you can change that!
Rick came into our care as a stray, so we unfortunately do not have much information on his history. However, Rick is searching for a new home to call his own where he can be the only fur baby for his owners to love and adore.
Whilst in our care, our behaviour specialists have determined that Rick is not the biggest fan of other dogs, and would require an owner committed to helping manage his behaviour around other dogs.
Furthermore, Rick has a mild conflict with receiving pats and cuddles at the moment, we have specified that everyone in the home must be at least secondary school-aged and older. Our Adoptions staff will be happy to demonstrate how Rick indicates through his body language that he is slightly uncomfortable with handling, as well as offer advice for how to overcome this.
However, once Rick gains confidence he is a sucker for head scratches and belly rubs, and thrives of attention! He loves his treats and is a sucker for a rope toy!
Our goofy boy Rick has a puppy persona in a big pups body, and tends to forget how big he really is! He would really benefit from some ongoing force-free training, which will help him gain those valued foundation skills every dog needs to have a well-balanced life.
If Rick sounds like the man you've been looking for, come on down to our North Melbourne shelter to meet him today.
