About Johnny
Gentle Johnny can be a bit shy, but once he gets to know you he quickly warms up and will show you his sweet and cheeky side!
Happy to spend a few hours home alone in the apartment, Johnny does his best impression of a shadow once his human is home, and takes his role as bathroom attendant very seriously. You'll never feel lonely with this boy by your side, and he makes an excellent case for cancelling your plans to stay home snuggled up in front of the TV. While he is a good boy who knows he needs to be on his own bed, he would love a forever home that might let him up on the primo human spots for a cuddle (especially the big human bed!).
Johnny's foster carer refers to him as her "one mile an hour man", this snoozy cruiser enjoys a slow stroll and likes to live life in the slow lane with lots of time to stop and smell the flowers. This gives humans plenty of time to admire how handsome he is, and you will need to get used to being stopped to hear what a gorgeous boy he is! A conversation starter, he will help you meet lots of neighbours with his handsome face and soulful brown eyes, he melts hearts wherever he goes.
The way to Johnny's heart is through his stomach, and he has never said no to a snack, even looking to help himself to the treat cupboard more than once. In his new home he would love food puzzles or foraging games to give him something to do when spending time alone to continue to reinforce those positive feelings about being by himself.
Johnny would easily fit into a home with another hound, or would be happy solo if his people are around more often than not. He makes an excellent brunch partner, and is a very calm boy who will sit quietly on a mat and watch the world go by (he has even mastered the art of the snooze at the busy market).
With his soft and sweet temperament and gorgeous face, we imagine it won't be long before Johnny finds his perfect people.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option
