About Olivia
A mellow girl...
Meet Olivia,
Oliva is a little nervous mixed with perfect amount of playfulness. She is a sensitive girl who is agreeable and friendly. Olivia is curious and a tad bit shy.
She is suitable for first time owners and is best suited to a calm & quiet home as she doesn't like loud noises. She prefers a more mellow approach to things.
Olivia is open to meet kids of any age, as she doesn't mind being picked up, cuddled & carried around, however she is a big fan of building trust first before this happens. Kids in the home should be understanding of her need to build bonds with her human family first before picking up & embracing with her. Luckily, this can be easily achieved through bull scratches & pats all down her back & gentle head pats.
Olivia has previously lived with cats, in fact she lived with Midnight (ID: 11302), Cleopatra (ID: 11303) and Olive (ID: 11305) and she appears to be content with the other cats in the cattery, , so we recommend that if you are going to introduce her to another feline friend to do so slowly & gradually.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Olivia would go living with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of her new owner. We have it on good authority that the sounds of dogs barking was a lot for Olivia to handle & she did not enjoy their sounds one bit.
Olivia was an inside only cat in her previous home & to make sure that she feels safe in her new home, we think that she should remain as an inside only cat. Olivia was too scared to go into the cat park, so we take that is a big "no, thank you" from her and highly encourage her new owners to keep her as an inside only cat so that she can continue feeling safe & content.
Olivia's energy needs a medium, and she also has a special place in her heart for wand toys. Olivia is also a quiet cat & is not fussy when it comes to food & treats.
She is also very tidy, always using her litter tray.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask if that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
