Milo is the happiest boy – exuberant, playful, loving and eager to learn. This social butterfly loves cuddles, attention and playing in water. Milo has recently proven he is a natural paddle board champion!
Milo is friendly with other dogs and settles into great play. He will need regular exercise and mental stimulation as his mind is active. Milo loves to learn new tricks and is food motivated and very trainable. Milo really is eager to learn all that he can. He would excel at doggy sports or be someone’s running buddy when he’s an adult!
Milo has good recall. He knows his name, can sit, drop, shake, out on
command and has shown he is eager to learn more commands and tricks. He
walks well on lead but can pull a bit when he gets close to the park
where he is usually allowed to run free and play with his friends. He
is great with other dogs and people he meets out and about. As he is
growing up he leaves dogs alone that he doesn’t know but loves to play
and greet his friends in the park or at the beach - human and dogs!
Milo travels well in the car but can get a bit impatient if he goes on longer trips before he has stretched his legs properly. He sleeps in
his crate at night with no problem but given the chance he would love to share the bed with his humans!
Milo’s ideal home is with an active person(s) or amongst a family who
will give him attention, cuddles and importantly exercise and will make
him an important part in their everyday lives. Milo will need strong,
loving guidance as he does test boundaries, which is to be expected of
a dog his age. He can be left home alone with his foster sister during
the day for some hours without a problem, but he needs to have enough
exercise and playtime before he settles or he will entertain himself
with whatever he can find. At least in the beginning, his new people
will be home most of the time to let Milo gain confidence and learn to
relax when left by himself. Initially he cannot be left outside
unsupervised because he may try to escape. He absolutely loves to play
tug or play with a ball and he adores and has lived with kids before so
older children that he cannot accidentally knock over would absolutely
be possible. Experience with working dogs and commitment to ongoing
training would be best.
We believe Milo would like to live with another dog who likes to play,
especially a game of tug and chase. His current foster sister is a
little bit older and quite dominant and will tell him off if he is
playing too rough and he happily accepts her setting the rules. If
Milo's new family has an existing dog, they will need to be able to set
boundaries with him (his humans will need to as well) as he can be
pushy until he finds out what is expected of him.
Milo is a lovely and beautiful boy and will absolutely thrive in a
loving home. He will be a cracker of an addition to one very lucky
family.
Thank you to Liv Morison of Liv Morison photography for the fantastic

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped,
wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals,
surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm
testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
