About Major Tom
*In foster care in Lidcombe, Sydney*
Major Tom came into care after a kind-hearted neighbour noticed him hiding in some bushes all alone in a park. His now-carers began feeding him every night and Major Tom would greet them every time, meowing in excitement and happily eating with them sitting around him :)
Due to his extremely sweet nature and healthy condition they came to the conclusion that he was either a missing pet or recently dumped at the park. He had no microchip and wasn't desexed, and after posting on multiple community groups and door-knocking, no one came forward for poor Tom.
One night after eating his dinner Tom decided to follow them home! He walked an entire two blocks all the way to their front door as if to say he was sick of living out in the cold and wanted to be safe and loved indoors.
Major Tom is his name because he reminded his carers of an astronaut just trying to get back home, like in the song 'Space Oddity' by David Bowie :)
He's since had all his vet work done and is totally loving his new cosy life! He makes biscuits, flops over trustingly and purrs like an engine. He's a bit of a couch potato by nature, preferring to just lounge around with his humans and be loved on!
Like all Maggie's pets, Major Tom is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will be indoors-only, as I've definitely found my sweet spot and hate the idea of being lost or abandoned again! I don't really have any other special needs - most types of loving households will suit me purrfectly :)
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Low to moderate - I love playing with my family, but also (and possibly even more) snuggling with them on the couch!
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I've not met any kids in foster care, but I'd most likely be best suited to a home with no children or children of at least school age (5+).
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I currently live with another cat and we get along fine! I'm not fussed about being an only cat either, as long as I get lots of company and interactive play from my new humans.
I haven't had any exposure to dogs since arriving in care.

We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at https://form.jotform.co/92940837256870. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
