Meet Rodeo,

Rodeo is a friendly pup who would be suitable for most homes. He is easy-going & loves to play & interact with the ACF staff.

Rodeo is affectionate and doesn't mind being picked up, carried, and cuddled so he would be suitable for families with children. He would make a great mate for kids and is open to meet children of any age!

Rodeo would love a yard, with high secure fencing, so that he can play in it safely. He has high energy & is very curious and smart.

Rodeo dreams of a home with toys - lots of toys! As well as daily exercise/walks to keep his body physically fit & his mind mentally fit. Treat/food puzzles are a great tool to keep active puppy minds engaged too.

Rodeo is starting to explore his surrounds & is growing in confidence each & every day. However it would be a wise move to invest in a create & start crate training as it is not only a highly valuable tool to have but a great skill for any dog to learn and know.

Just like all puppies, he should be enrolled into puppy training as soon as he is adopted. These classes & training will set him for life and will allow Rodeo to learn social skills & etiquette, as well as define his manners. Classes & training will also teach him how to appropriately interact with other dogs as well as other animals & humans. Rodeo may only be young but he is ready to learn & is already so smart! Rodeo already knows how to 'sit' and will offer a 'sit' with or without treats (although, he prefers the reward).

Rodeo is still learning how to walk on a lead; loose leash walking is a very important skill to have and will make walking in the future a pleasant experience for both Rodeo & his new owners should his training start as soon as possible.

These training classes will also assist his new owner as they can both learn new skills together.

If you've got other animals at home, that's okay, just make sure that they have a slow & controlled introduction.

Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask if that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
