Tarzan is an absolutely handsome Central Asian Shepherd Dog x Australian Cattle Dog - what a mix!

This beautiful boy has been with The Lost Dogs' Home for way too long and we are on a mission to find him the best home. Do you think this could be you?

Tarzan is a boy set in his ways, he wants to be the only animal in the home and have all of the attention on himself. A king like Tarzan deserves to be spoiled. He absolutely adores soft toys and loves to carry them around. He even takes them with him on walks. Could you imagine walking down the street with this giant hairy boy carrying a pink teddy bear?!

Tarzan does have some of his working dog traits come out now and again, he likes to run the perimeter of his property so a new home where he has access to come indoors and hang out with the family is ideal. He adores leaning in for a little cuddle - but is also content just to sleep on a bed at the foot of the couch while you watch Netflix on a cold evening.

He absolutely LOVES treats - a food motivated dog is much easier to train and he is a total sucker for Schmackos so if you've got those on hand he will be your best friend. He is a mix of two highly intelligent breeds that require lots of mental enrichment so things like puzzle feeders, kongs and lots of toys will help keep his mind active.

But by far his favourite thing in the world is sitting there with a toy in his mouth waiting patiently for you to pop on his harness and take him out for a walk! He walks like an angel for most of the time. Every now and then he gets distracted by things going on around him, but as long as you have some of those wonderful treats or his soft toy, he will trot on by like the best boy he is.

Because Tarzan is a big boy that can sometimes come off as quite aloof, we recommend he have a home where everyone is over the age of 16, sometimes he just does not realize his size - but this is not to say with some consistent training and effort by his new family this won't change in the future.
