About Duke
Duke is such a lovable pup! With his soft, thick chocolate fur and big eyes, he just melts your heart! Duke has a very cute feature in his curly little tail, which he was born with and which will stay that way. Just a little quirk to set this boy apart.
Duke will likely be a good medium-large sized dog when fully grown as his breed mix includes Catahoula (Mum) and potentially some Labrador x larger breed dog (Dad). He loves to play with people and toys.
It will be super important for Duke to be socialised with other dogs once fully vaccinated, so that he grows up into a social, friendly adult who is relaxed meeting new dogs. Puppy classes are ideal for this (there are classes for pups who have not yet completed all vaccinations too, generally in vet clinics).
Duke is fostered in a family home so is used to kids and has met a couple of other dogs. He can be quite the bossy little man so will benefit from early obedience training with lots of consistency and most of all socialisation. He is not yet toilet trained but these guys are quick learners!
Before applying for a pup, please remember that adopting a puppy into your home is a big commitment. As they grow, puppies require daily exercise, positive and varied socialisation outside the home (to help them become comfortable and manageable around new people, dogs, animals and situations), training, grooming and playtime. When applying, please ensure all residents in your home are on board, and consider your work hours, holidays, and how busy your personal life is. Puppies will need someone who is home for most of the day with regular input into playtime/training especially in those first six months after adoption.
Please also check with your landlord if renting as we may ask for proof of permission to keep a dog.
If you can offer this beauty of a puppy a loving, stable and active home, please complete our SAFE Bunbury application form as follows:
