About Selma
Selma is a 5 yr old girl, extremely timid until she knows you. She is very food motivated but it does take a while to trust. She is still learning to take food from your hand. But gets better everyday. She came in with Patty, her daughter. She is social with other dogs. Because of this, she will need a home with an existing friendly dog or any size.
She’s not displaying any playful tendencies as yet. But she loves the company of dogs. Wary of most humans. She loves to play and explore garden areas. And absolutely loves to run! She needs need gentle, slow handling. Selma is nervous of being picked up, but with time and patience she is fine.
She was extremely matted when she arrived but is now getting used to grooming with an experienced groomer. Since being with us she has got used to lots of attention and handling and she is becoming really affectionate, still on her own terms. She loves a tummy tickle but still likes her space. She is only starting to come to her carer on her own. A lot of love and patience will be needed. She has a low shedding coat that needs regular clipping.
Apartment Friendly: Can cope in an apartment with regular access to outside.
