About Poppy
Meet Poppy, a delightful two-year-old Dachshund. With eyes that speak volumes and a personality that leaves a lasting impression, Poppy is guaranteed to light up any home. Her delightful individuality shines through her interactions, rewarding anyone lucky enough to give her the time and patience she deserves.
Poppy is a charming little lady who thrives in the company of dogs her own size. She's a social butterfly with a preference for smaller dogs and has the potential to build a beautiful bond with another small dog in a new family. She might be petite, but Poppy has an adventurous spirit, always excitedly sniffing out new smells and making playful attempts to chase after her toy ball.
She may take a little time to adjust to her new environment and family, given her slightly anxious nature. Don’t you worry, though! With just a little encouragement and continued lead training, Poppy's confident and happy side starts to shine brighter. She'll gradually approach you, especially if you have a tempting treat in your hand. Slowly but surely, she'll start seeking out your company and giving you those heart-melting looks that all dog lovers recognize.
A word for the wise though, cats seem to frighten her. So, a home without a resident feline would be the most comfortable space for her.
Poppy, being the active and engaging pupper that she is, would be the perfect addition to a loving family desiring a small and sociable doggy companion. Picture this! Afternoons spent lounging in the garden, with Poppy playfully chasing after her toys while you sit back, relax and enjoy her joyful energy. The dream, right? Give Poppy a chance to become your loyal companion, she's definitely worth it.

Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
