Meet Francois - The Soulful and Playful Kitten
Francois, along with his sister Olympia, was found abandoned on the streets of Ararat. Thankfully, a relative of one of our carers rescued them and brought them to safety with Cat People of Melbourne.

Francois is a striking black kitten with a few white sprinkles on his chest. He is a soulful and loving boy who cherishes being with his human and his sister, Olympia. Despite his affectionate nature, Francois is also full of playful energy. He loves to crash tackle and wrestle Olympia, which she loudly protests because he’s considerably larger (Brothers! Are we right?) He also enjoys playing with his foster siblings, if you are up for it, then so is he!

When not practicing his Greco-Roman wrestling moves on Olympia, Francois loves exploring the house and playing with anything that moves. To him, everything is exciting and worthy of a pat and play session.
After playing, Francois loves nothing more than to lie next to you and gaze lovingly into your eyes while you stroke him from nose to tail. He rewards you with love blinks and huge purrs, a deeply grounding and soothing activity for both him and his carer. He also loves snuggling under the covers and being carried like a baby when he's not in zoomies/play mode. All this is incredibly sweet and grounding for the humans he lives with. When he’s not tending to the emotional needs of his people, he’s curled up with his sassy sister Olympia for nap time.

Having experienced hunger, Francois never forgets the trauma of being without food. As he’s still growing (and he's growing fast, he's a long lanky boy with a fine shiny coat), it’s important not to let him eat indiscriminately, no matter how convincing his sad faces are.

Francois is expected to grow into quite a large boy, with angled ears reminiscent of a Siamese, though he’s a marvellously mixed moggy in every other way. Cat People of Melbourne has a policy to prevent Single Kitten Syndrome to reduce the loneliness and destructive behaviour single kittens can often have, which leads to unhappy new owners and undesired returns. If the cat/kitten to be adopted is less than one year old, they must be adopted with a second cat/kitten unless you already have a friendly cat/kitten at home. We have discounts for two or more adoptions at the same time to help with this.

Francois is a healthy raw/high quality fed kitten who has been wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped (microchip #953010006750225, source #RE101165). He is available for adoption. His adoption fee also includes his second vaccination at one of our rescue vets.

To adopt from us you'll be required to have minimum an online meet & greet, a remote house check, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Our animals are fully vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being advertised. They are evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and any known issues are communicated. NOT NEGOTIABLE CONDITIONS: indoor only/restrained to property & must be fed raw or vet prescription wet food.
We will communicate through every step of the process to ensure that the experience is excellent and your feline companion is the right fit. Read the contract for T&Cs for returns.
You must have residency in Australia to adopt from our group. If you are visiting or on a visa, talk to us about fostering instead!
