About Dylan
Cat Lovers Ballarat is looking for a foster home / foster to adopt home for our very special needs boy Dylan.
Dylan is approximately 4 months old and came into rescue when his owners contacted us after being unable to care for him any longer.
Dylan has been to see our senior veterinarian multiple times who has diagnosed him with hind limb paralysis and deformity from birth, he is incontinent due to the fact he is unable to get himself into and out of a litter tray, for this reason he wears nappies. Dylan came to us with a terrible pressure sore on his bottom from his condition not being cared for properly and being allowed to scoot his sore raw bottom along the hard flooring without protection. The pressure sore is now healed and just requires sudocrem to be applied before his nappy.
Despite all of this, Dylan is VERY happy, friendly, playful and active like any other normal kitten! He is full of personality, our vet has cleared him to have a relatively normal life (albeit without the use of his back legs) and says he will thrive in the right home!
Dylan can scoot around on the floor very quickly and chase balls, play with the cat scratcher and take himself to his food and water with no trouble.
Dylan has been around other cats and kittens and is happy to play and share.
We are looking to have a wheelchair/cart made for Dylan once he has finished growing and have many supporters ready to donate when the time comes to fund the chair.
Cat Lovers Ballarat is happy to provide any and all support needed to the foster carer/adopter of Dylan and guide you along the way. We are looking for someone dedicated to helping special needs kitties and providing him with the loving, special home he needs and deserves.
Medical notes
Paralysed back legs, deformity from birth.
Dylan is not desexed as he has no use of his back legs/genitals and the veterinarian does not recommend desexing him unless there becomes a behavioural reason to do so, he will not be able to spray or mate.
Vaccinated x2
Microchipped
Flea and Worm treated.

Adoption details
Thank you for your interest in a rescue cat! They can make the most wonderful friends and family members.
Our rescue cats have varied histories and stories and as such they each require a different home environment, we ask prospective adopters a series of questions aimed at making the perfect match so please dont be offended when asked questions. We do not adopt to a first in first serve basis and only adopt to the most suitable home possible. If you are outside Ballarat we ask that you make time to have a 30 minute video-chat with us and the kitty you are interested in so we can get to know you a little better and you can see the kitty in its home environment before coming up to Ballarat to adopt, if you are local then we hold a meet and greet at the foster home of the kitty. We only offer video chats and meet and greets to the most suitable homes.
All of our cats at Cat Lovers Ballarat are rehomed as strictly INDOOR ONLY cats and we ask that all prospective adopters only apply if they are capable and comfortable with this.
Please have patience with us as we go through all applications and make our decisions to move onto phase 2 and offer meet and greets, this can take days and sometimes a week to go through, you will be contacted whether you are successful or not.
Thank you again for your interest in one of our rescue cats!
