Marple is a friendly, long limbed goofball who loves to be around her people.
She will lean into you for a smooch or climb up into your lap and lean her head on your shoulder. She is a well-mannered girl with a bit of a stubborn streak at times.
She is currently living with a large relaxed female and an extremely active medium male and she handles them both beautifully. She joins in with some fun wrestling but will also stand back and cheer from the sidelines. She won’t let herself be bullied but doesn’t get involved in anything serious.
When Marple first came to us she had never encountered stairs and was unsure when trying new foods for the first time. She is now flying off the stairs like Wonderwoman and is first into the kitchen and sitting beautifully for any food she is given (blueberries are her favourites).
She has been left home outside with her two foster siblings during the day when everyone was at work but would need to be inside at night because she does get a bit obsessed with possums. We have left all three dogs inside alone for a couple of hours when we went out without issues (apart from them getting up on the couch when they were not allowed). I am not sure how she would go alone for hours every day. She would make a great “take to work dog” as she is very relaxed inside and the perfect height for lap snuggles.
Marple loves going for a walk, obsessed with sniffing everything. She is totally distracted by everything going on around her but she is learning to sit at roads. Marple will benefit from continued lead training on a Halti with someone who handles her with confidence.
She likes chew toys. She loves being tucked up in a blanket and sleeps through the night without a peep. She has been camping with us and enjoyed being at the beach. She met some children whilst camping who gave her pats and hugs and she was relaxed and well behaved. She travels well in the car.
Marple is toilet trained. She enjoys having a good mix of indoor and outdoor time. She loves being outside, sunbaking but she will also choose to stay inside with you sometimes when her foster siblings go charging outside to play, she is very much her own dog and doesn’t follow the pack. She is best suited for a home where she is included in activities, adventures, and everyday life as much as possible.
Teenagers or upper primary dog-savvy kids will be good for Marple. Not tested with young children (apart from the meetings at the campsite) although she should be fine with them after sufficient training and supervision. She is a super chilled dog when she is inside the house.
