About Sadie
Everyone, meet Sadie, a 10-month old sweetheart of a Dachshund. Petite, gentle, and possessive of an irresistibly sweet nature, Sadie is a diamond in the rough waiting to shine with a patient and loving family.
While initially a quiet and shy girl, she quickly becomes a loving and playful companion once comfortable. Like any young pup, she demands a certain level of attention and will need basic training to help her fully integrate into her new home. This, of course, also means that she is a blank slate ready to be moulded into the perfect pet!
One of Sadie's winning traits is her great compatibility with other animals. She adores dogs her own size, perfectly content to romp around with friends that match her petite stature. Larger dogs may be a little intimidating for her, but don't be mistaken - she just needs time to acclimate.
Cats, you ask? Not a problem! Sadie seems to understand that these whiskered creatures are friends, not foes. Her calm and patient demeanor makes her a good candidate for a multi-pet household.
One thing prospective family members should know about Sadie: she loves her toys, maybe a little too much. A strong chewer, she can be destructive with toys, but don't worry! This curious habit can be managed with the right training and durable, dog-friendly playthings.
With her sweet disposition and potential for growth, Sadie is a promising companion. She is a lovely, playful girl who promises to bring joy and love into the life of her future family.
Medical notes
Sadie had entropion surgery performed on both eyes - healing well
She also had a small hernia repaired at the time of desexing
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
