About Daisy *On Trial*
*daisy is currently trialling her new home* this adorable toy poodle is daisy and she will need a very patient, loving forever home as she is an extremely timid little dog and it will take her some time to adjust to a new situation. Daisy is a very reluctant surrender as her owner, who absolutely adores her, is moving overseas and would love to take her with her but daisy unfortunately wouldn’t cope, especially with a lengthy stay in quarantine. Daisy was rescued 6 months ago from a life where she’d been used for breeding over and over again without much varied human interaction just the company of many more poodles. It took daisy 2 weeks to adjust to her new home and be able to interact with her new owner and her owner’s mother and then another week to allow the man of the house to get close to her. She does not have an aggressive bone in her body, she’s just very frightened of the world yet once she gets to know and trust you she’s an absolute delight!
daisy had never walked on a lead before and knew no commands, yet in less than 6 months this intelligent girl walks well on a loose lead (95% of the time) and has learnt to sit, drop, shake, come and even “twirl” when her owner claps her hands twice! she has come along in leaps and bounds within the household but is still wary of strangers and will run and hide in her inside kennel when they arrive; by the end of the hour when i first met daisy she was taking treats from me, albeit warily, and allowing me to give her little pats so she is improving. . . . . I also got to experience how much fun she can be when her owner took her into their backyard for some “playtime” where daisy ran around like a loon and had so much fun!!!!! we wouldn’t recommend daisy to a home with young children due to her timid nature she needs to be allowed to come to you, you cannot force contact with her by backing her into a corner and young children would not understand this whereas a caring, gentle teenager would be a better option or simply no children at all. Daisy enjoys an inside / outside lifestyle and we would expect it to continue in her new home. She also comes with everything she needs including her inside & outside beds/kennels, her brushes, bowls, collar & lead and of course her favourite toy mouse as this will help her settle in. Daisy does need clipping every 4-6 weeks and because of her timidity this really needs to be done by her new owner though it’s not difficult so her current owner will teach them and also include the set of professional dog clippers she bought. Little daisy is an obedient and very affectionate dog once she gets to know and trust you but will need time with her new owner for this to develop at her own pace. If you think you can give daisy the same responsible, loving home as she is currently in then please download and complete a sarg dog application form by following this link: http://www. Sarg. Net.
