About Charlotte - Located in Bundoora
Hi there,
I'm Lady Charlotte but my friends call me Charlie. I may have a regal name but I'm exuberant, playful and loving, with a dash of cheekiness thrown into the mix. I lived under a house with my mum and brother for the first three months of my life so I was pretty nervous about the idea of living with humans. It took me a few weeks to realise that my foster humans were actually nice and now I love my foster humans and even quite like making new human friends. I have a little kink in my tail from an injury that happened before I came to my foster family but I think it just adds to my personality.
I've tried to make friends with my foster brother, a 6 year old cat, but he just wants to eat my food and doesn't want to play. I might like living with another cat who is friendly and playful and can match my energy but I don't mind if I'm the only one in your life. I'm pretty good at making my own fun when there is no one around but I'd also love to hang out with you as much as possible.
My favourite toy is any type of ball - pingpong balls, golf balls, fluffy balls... if I can play soccer with it, I'll love it. My foster humans tell me that I'm a pretty good defender. I also like playing fetch with my second favourite toy, which is a butterfly on a string. Although I'm playful (and my foster humans tell me that I'm pretty cute when I'm playing), my favourite time of day is when there is a lap for me to snuggle on.
I look forward to meeting you and I hope that we can be friends.
Yours affectionately,
Charlie

WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
