About Creme Brulee
MUST GO WITH ANOTHER EXISTING FAMILY PET
Meet Crème Brûlée! As sweet as the dessert itself, little Bru is a happy, relaxed, friendly and funny puppy who loves doing pretty much anything as long as she's with her pack.
Bru lives with complete deafness and mild vision impairment, but you would never know because she is absolutely committed to living her best life! She is rapidly becoming a pro at dog sign language and she already knows signs for sit, down, wait, come, yes/well done, no, leave it, off/out, and food time! Don't worry, we'll teach you - she loves to demonstrate just how clever she is for people. She's keen to learn even more signs and would love a family who are committed to communicating with her because she absolutely LOVES humans!
Bru does best with structure and routine to help her manage the anxieties that come with deafness and vision impairment. She has thrived with crate training and a sleep/rest schedule because if she had her way she'd be up 24/7 licking your face and repotting your pot plants! She requires lots of enrichment and mental stimulation to keep her busy during waking hours - she loves her Kong, LickiMats, snuffle mat, puzzles, bones and chews. She's also obsessed with plush toys, the cardboard bit of a loo roll and any spare boxes you have going - pop a treat inside and off she goes.
Bru walks well on leash and simply loves a good adventure - things to sniff, space to run and chase her doggie mates, and of course play fetch which is a favourite (yes, she can play fetch with some adjustments). If there's water, there's Bru - puddles, buckets, pools, beaches it doesn't matter, Bru LOVES it. In dark or very bright situations, Bru relies on human touch and the presence of a doggie friend to help her navigate and ease her anxieties. She's probably never going to be an off-leash superstar, but she does well with recall with closed and safe environments.
Bru will be a medium sized dog when fully grown with fairly high energy levels. She needs a family committed to maintaining structure for her including daily walks, fetching games, and enrichment time. She'd do best with a family willing to include her properly in their lives - she'd love to go to that cafe with you, or go for a playdate or bbq at your mate's house, or even on a bushwalk. She loves that her foster mum works from home, though she's now okay with her leaving for a few hours. She wasn't a cuddly puppy at first but now she happily jumps up onto a lap for a cuddle and a smooch and maybe if you're super lucky a cheeky nap and belly rub before she hops off and runs to the next thing she wants to get stuck into.
She has a mixed coat that requires brushing a couple of times a week, and she does shed a little between brushes. Her toilet training is going well though Bru has a history of excessive drinking and urination - don't worry, the vets have given her the all clear and she's improving a lot as she grows up. Dogs should never be denied water, but it's important to ensure Bru doesn't drink to excess, or drink from boredom or to gain attention, and to establish clear toileting spots and routines around toileting to keep her training on track. We can offer you support on how to manage this in your home.
