About Maisie
Say hello to Maisie, our stunning, 5-year-old Dachshund lady with a heart full of love and affection. Maisie has a charming personality; she's outgoing, friendly, and with her waggy tail and an enormous capacity for love, she always wins over the hearts of everyone she meets.
Maisie walks well on a leash, though she may need a little boost of encouragement when exploring unfamiliar surroundings. She loves her doggy pals, particularly those who match her in size, and is gently curious about her feline counterparts. Yes, she’s a lover, not a fighter - being around people, receiving plenty of cuddles, and getting her fill of attention are her absolute favorite things.
This sweet girl has a true foodie spirit, she never says no to a good treat, making training or reinforcement a delightful task. She occasionally exhibits a touch of anxiety in new situations, but a loving voice and a comforting pat on the head are all it takes to make her feel safe and secure again.
Maisie is outgoing by nature and her curiosity for the world around her makes every day an adventure. She can't wait to find her new family, where she can share her love, energy, and endearing nature. Has Maisie wagged her way right into your heart?)
Medical notes
During her vet visit, it was noted that both of Maisies eyes have a 1-2mm perforation of the iris, with altered integrity of the iris and pupils although vision is still present and eyes respond to light appropriately. Vet suspects changes are present following an episode of inflammation some time ago. No active disease currently.
Maisie also had a dental scale and clean performed with multiple tooth extractions due to periodontal disease.
It is also noted that both forelegs have mild carpal valgus which is common in Dachshunds.
She otherwise passed her vet check.
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
