About Teddy
Hi,
You may have seen a few other Tibetan Spaniel x's like me go up on the page recently - I and many others, came into care a few weeks ago from a backyard breeder and we were very timid and unsure when we arrived.
Over the first week in care the other dogs and I started to explore and get some confidence, when I came in I was a bit protective of the others who came as well and would hide behind me, I kind of made myself the guardian of the others and would give a growl when a human would come to close...
That lasted about 3 days when I realised that my foster mum had some yum food for me (I will never say no to a piece of cooked sausage or chicken - just encase you were asking!)
I realised that the people at the rescue were not going to hurt me and then I asked for cuddles and a bath!
I have a foster brother who has taught me how to be a dog as I wasn't really sure before that, We love to have wrestling matches and play with toys together, go for walks and just generally be fun together.
I also love to snuggle with them at night.
My foster mum had some friends visit with some kids the other day and while i was a bit nervous to begin with I soon came out of my shell and was very happy to play with them - so I think I would be happy with some kids at my new home too - maybe about 8 years and over so that they will want to play but understand my nervousness.
One of my favorite spots while my foster mum leaves the house is the back of the couch - so hopefully my new home will allow me to do that - I will just snooze on it while she is gone
Coming from a home where there was lots of stuff laying around and no one ever really knew who's was what's, well at my new house the house is so nice and clean so if there is something left lying around (like a shoe) I will happily help my foster mum by collecting it and taking it to my dog bed - just so she knows where it is when she goes looking for it.
My foster brother also taught me this thing he calls tummy rubs that the humans will do with us - OMG that is great and at least once a day please!
At night I do go into a crate for sleeping (my foster mum tells me it's 'bedtime' but as she doesn't shut the door as I get a bit stressed, I do from time to time quietly sleep on the bed with the other dog - I like that arrangement - best of both worlds for me.
My foster mum says that I am starting to blossom, it may take me a few moments to get comfy but my foster mum is saying I'm really taking great strides with that and love everybody even the tradesman that come to the house to fix things!
I would like to go to a home with another dog or two that will happily wrestle with me, snuggle and just generally do dog things.
I would really enjoy a home where there is someone home more often than not, or a home where people work from home or a retired person who wants to spend the time with me and I am able to spend as much time with my humans.
I am not tested on cats
I am child friendly
I weigh 5.9kgs
I came into care not used to walking on a lead but I’ve been practicing and absolute love to get out and about on the lead and walk the neighborhood with you.
I am toilet trained but if I can’t get outside I will have an accident in the house.
I am happy to have access to inside and outside during the day (I like to sleep inside on my dog bed where I’m happy ) – I love to be able to have access outside during the day to sniff and explore and then inside when I’m ready for a nap.
So if you think I'm sounding like your sort of boy - please submit an application - i will give you years of fun and love!

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email.
