About Jelly
Jelly
Special little guy.
Jelly came to us, after a lovely family found him wandering near the railway tracks. Only weighing grams, having access to food was a treat for him.
In the next few days he slowly put on weight and came out of his shell. We then started to notice slight differences to a normal kitten at that age. His head would move a little faster, smelling the food, coming out of his crate he would circle.
After many vet trips and observations, Jelly was diagnosed with Cerebellar Hypoplasia.
Cerebellar hypoplasia is a developmental condition in which the cerebellum of the brain fails to develop properly. The cerebellum is the portion of the brain that controls fine motor skills, balance, and coordination. The condition is not painful or contagious.
Jelly has developed into a cheeky boy, wanting to be played with often, exploring without fear, loves his food.
Jelly has bursts of energy but then will stop and sleep soundly. Likes being with kids and adults but not keen on being picked up, but is happy to sleep beside you.
Jelly is a little rough when playing with other kittens not realizing how strong he has become. Also likes to groom them as well.
When meeting new people or animals he doesn’t have the weariness most kittens at this age would. Making sure his first encounters are safe and always supervised.
Having older kids would suit him better.
Jelly needs to strictly be an indoor only cat due to his condition he is more vulnerable
